How Private Tuition Far Exceeds Standard Classroom Teaching

While the services offered by tutors in London are not necessarily undervalued, they’re certainly underexplored. It’s common knowledge that private tutors play an important role in the development of so many children of all ages up and down the country, that exactly how big of a difference the right tutor can make when hired at an opportune moment is something so many parents perhaps don’t fully understand.

Of course it is not until you find yourself actually considering hiring a private tutor that the subject is given a great deal of thought, but in terms of when, and where and why tutors can/should be hired, their scope and capabilities go so much farther than most tend to give them credit for. In fact, it could be accurate to say that the tuition offered by private tutors vastly exceeds and excels anything any child can expect to receive in the classroom, regardless of the quality of the school they may be in.

How can this possibly be the case?  Consider the following:

Your Child’s Pace

Group together 15 or to 20 children and the fact that every single one of them will learn and develop at a different pace will inherently lead to some falling behind, while others remain unchallenged. Nevertheless, it is simply impossible for any conventional teacher to plan and run lessons that take into account the pace of learning of every child in the class. With a private tutor on the other hand, absolutely everything is done at the perfect pace for the child in question, facilitating the most effective and rapid development and advancement possible.

One-on-One

In a very similar vein, there’s also the way in which so many children find it difficult to respond positively to conventional schooling when and where teachers are able to give them any real one-on-one attention at all. This can and does inherently lead to certain children feeling neglected or even isolated, which can of course have a detrimental effect on their progress. With a private tutor by contrast, all attention and assistance provided are offered on a one-on-one basis.

Obstacle Identification

Another inherent limitation when it comes to the standard classroom is that of being able to give each child sufficient time and focus so as to both identify and help them overcome their own unique problems. Some may excel in most areas but struggle when it comes to mathematics, others may be falling behind with an essay writing, others with reading and so on and so forth – all unique and personal obstacles it is almost impossible to overcome in a classroom environment.

Beyond the Syllabus

Largely every school operating in a conventional capacity up and down the United Kingdom is somewhat bound by the national curriculum and doesn’t have a great deal of say in what gets taught and what left out. Private tutors can be taken on to introduce children to quite literally any subject or discipline whatsoever, spanning far further than the confines of the curriculum. Not only this, but private tutors can also be fantastic in training and developing kids’ ability to prioritise, organise and manage their workloads, manage their time, develop strong study skills and so on.

Full Flexibility

Something else that’s fantastic about the contemporary private tutor is the way in which they are able to offer near-total flexibility, in order to fit their services in around even the busiest of schedules. This can be truly invaluable in the case of the busiest households, where offering any kind of beneficial assistance and guidance personally may be borderline impossible. Private tutors can be brought in at pretty much any time and on whatever kind of basis suits the needs of the client.  It’s also comparatively rare for contemporary private tutors to require long-term or binding contracts.

Neutrality

Last but not least, one of the great things about hiring a private tutor even on a casual basis is the way in which they bring a sense of third-party neutrality into the schooling/educational process. Quite often, even in the instance of a child that may not be willing to open up about classroom struggles and obstacles to their parents, they may be more inclined to confide in a tutor. Private tutors with no familiarity with the child’s long-term background or personality are also naturally better equipped to offer objective and impartial advice on every aspect of their schooling and development – something which again may be difficult for a parent or standard schoolteacher.
