Outdoor Classrooms

Outdoor classrooms can serve many useful purposes. They can be used to help create a healthy place to learn that is especially useful for certain activities. Sports and PE lessons can include discussions on the games that they will be playing while teaching children about nature has become an especially popular part of the teaching curriculum. Classrooms and outdoor areas are the ideal place to do this as they provide shelter as well as somewhere to work. The government, backed by health study findings, advises that children spend some time outside every day. Unfortunately, the British weather doesn’t follow the same guidelines but with the installation of a gazebo or freestanding classroom it is still possible to provide children with somewhere to learn and somewhere to take on new information even in poor weather conditions.

Semi-permanent structures can be placed outside the school building and these can incorporate many features. As well as learning aids, these lodge style buildings can provide somewhere for the children to sit, teachers to teach from, and for storage of essential items. Such outdoor classrooms are very useful especially if your school has limited indoor space or you are taking on additional pupils and require additional, flexible school buildings.
